Tuning Fork Level Switch

Tuning Fork Level Switch The tuning fork level switch is a modern type of level switch. The tuning fork is excited by a crystal to produce vibrations. When the tuning fork is submerged in a material the vibration frequency changes. This frequency change is detected by electronic circuits and a switch signal is generated. The sensor tuning fork vibrates at its natural frequency. When the tuning fork comes into contact with liquid or other materials the vibration frequency decreases. Energy is dissipated through friction between material particles which causes the vibration amplitude to decay and stop. This change in frequency activates the level switch and produces a switching signal. The tuning fork level switch can be used for liquid level detection and in applications where float level switches cannot be used due to structure turbulence agitation bubbles or vibration. Since the tuning fork level switch has no moving parts it does not require maintenance or adjustment and is considered an upgraded alternative to float level switches. Product Features High adaptability The measurement is not affected by electrical parameters or the density of the measured liquid. Conditions such as structural interference agitation turbulence bubbles vibration moderate viscosity high temperature and high pressure do not affect detection. Maintenance free The detection process is handled by electronic circuits with no moving parts. Once installed and operating no maintenance is required. No calibration required Detection is not affected by electrical parameters or density of the measured medium. No on site calibration is required regardless of the type of liquid or material being measured.
